Join me now for a fantasy (so far) look ahead:
It was before the second anniversary of my heart valve surgery that we managed to get moved in to the new house. Cleaning up the bird poop meant that we were there almost every weekend, and we managed to tweak the place, solve problems, and move stuff. We ended up with three storage lockers in Freeport for all my stuff that was to go into the workshop building when it was built, plus a few other things. Other stuff was shredded and thrown away, and a few items went into the house. Moving the cat was the most nerve-wracking chore, but he settled in
nicely with his enclosure (we call it "the playpen") in the south bedroom, which Calamity Jean had claimed as her home office. The other bedrooms were equipped with beds for guests, so we had some. The old house was sold quickly, for a fair price, as-is, and we put Chicago behind us, mostly.
